Hot glue gun glue, safe for water?

From what I've read GE type 1 without mildew inhibitors is what is used by most aquarium manufactures. 100% silicone is 100% silicone. There's no difference between that and the "aquarium grade" stuff.
 
yes i would agree that hot glue will eventually dissolve in water go with silicone

yer right.. cept that the stuff marked "aquarium grade" is $15 for a 10oz tube... :irked: i use the GE type 1 aka "GE window and door in the blue/grey/white tube".. ive yet to use it for a whole tank build but prettymuch everything relating to my tanks that has silicone on it is the GE stuff...
DAP also makes 3-4oz tubes of "aquarium" silicone.. those are great for hard to reach areas just because of the small tube size (lil smaller than a toothpaste tube).. $4 around here
