what is better to use on glass. i was at an auction on saturday and got a chest/dresser sort of thing and in it were some nice picture frames that i gutted out just for the glass and was going to make caves out of them so is it better to use silicone or hot glue???

IMO, there's no reason to not use products specifically designed for aquarium use. Especially if you're unsure of how your fish may be affected. I wouldn't want to risk my expensive live inventory over a couple of bucks.

ohhhh im not trying to save money i was just wondeing, i mean ive used it before i was just wanting to know what would hold it together the best

Hot glue generally loses its adhesion properties every the time. It's a form of wax, so provides a semi-permanent or semi-temporary hold.
