Yup...I got (2) 1g ice wands. Also threw in some ice packs too. I think us SoCal people are going to have to invest in a chiller for the summer months.
Ben, do you have bubbles in your tank? As long as you have good flow of bubbles the fish can survive in this heat without a problem. My tank temp is 91F but I do have very good bubbles in there. If you have an enclosed acrylic tank then reducing lights will lower it by 2-3 degrees.benzjamin13;4298859; said:Luckily for me...the calibration on that digi-therm is off by 10 degrees. It's still super hot at 94F though. I threw in a few ice wands, but that melted in 15 minutes and lowered it by 1F.
The Zoo Med digital thermometer don't seem to work that well. I had 6 in total, but 2 broke and this one is off by 10 degrees.![]()
Not chiller, but a good, strong air pump will be handy. I bought a used Jemhco right before summer last year, and I love it! It knocks the tank temp 10-20 degree off easily. The only down side is it make my fish room sound like a LFS with those bubbling noisebenzjamin13;4298905; said:Yup...I got (2) 1g ice wands. Also threw in some ice packs too.
