  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Agree with whats said above, not to mention the hot dog buns would quickly deteriorate in water.

I use lots of crickets and earthworms. They don't pass anything onto fish afaik.

if you catch your own make sure they are not in an area where pesticides are used or any other lawn chemical though.

No hotdogs. Just plain ol' NO !!! Bad idea. Dont do it.......

theres so much dump in them...instead of hotdogs you could try a mcflurry n a cigarette?

I'll try crickets as well!

Crickets are great and mine loves them. Insects and other inverts are the best foods for oscars. They are high in protien and low in fat. You can keep crickets a live and feed them high quality foods, so that it will pass on vitamins to your oscar. Inverts are a large part of wild oscar foods, and oscars typically eat insects that fall into the water. It is fun to watch as well. Pellets should be a large part of the diet too. Mine also likes blood worm cubes.
I would avoid any kind of mamal foods, and feeder fish.

I feed my oscars shrimp, krill, bio gold and staple. I also feed crickets when I find them, which is fairly often since I live in an older house. They gobble anything down

I feed mine mealworms fairly often which I gut load on fish flake food. Earthworms too, also gave them a couple ragworm the other day which they smashed up.
