I'm not sure if your decorations are safer because the folks out your way are simply a better class of people...or maybe it's because your set-up is "within range" of a swift kick to the soft parts...

I actually live in an in between area, it has lower class and blue collar workers. So it might have just been luck lolOkay, that's what I figured, thanks.

On the subject of halloween in the UK. I never remembered it as being a big thing over here, especially as a child. But recent years have shown it's gaining more and more momentum. Last night's weather proved that beyond doubt, it was a good turn out irrespective of the appalling conditions. I felt sorry for some of the younger kids though.
When they cried out "trick or treat" at the door I didn't know whether to pass them the box of treats, or throw them a towel!

For years I have I wanted to build a trebuchet that can chuck Halloween pumpkins up high enough for wingshot practice.
We had our typical rural Manitoba Hallowe-en. As usual, I carved several jack-o-lanterns and lit them . . . as usual, when I go out later this week to use the jack-o-lanterns for their intended end use...as rifle targets...I will be shooting poorly because I will have the sugar jitters from eating too dang much chocolate.
