What about the water damage? Would there be a secondary fire to dry up all the water once the initial fire is extinguished? What happens if the second fire gets out of control? Another giant tank perhaps, just as a back up plan...
We had a house fire, the 55 gallon tank of 2 oscars were fine and my little 20 gallon at the time was fine. ...my canaries ..........not fine. Poor little babes. But with wooden stands if the fire hit them....that would have been bad. They also survived the 1989 earthquake here in the SF bay area. I'll never forget that 55 gallon swaying and rocking as my mom ran me out of the house.
I would imagine that the silicone could hold to a pretty high temp. I call false on the water bottle not melting until all the water is out of it. So I know it's not water but it's still not flammable ( or at least haven't gotten that far yet) so one day when I was bored I got a two liter coke bottle still full of coke and a lighter well I held up the bottle and put the lighter under it and the bottle started melting. So a water bottle will eventually melt when full just not as quick
We had a house fire in '08. I had a 380gal explode and a 340gal split open along with quite a few other tanks that didn't make it. Over 1500 gallons went on the floors. It did not help. Out of the thousands of fish we had the firemen " rescued" 4 juvenile wild oscars. They were in a room that was untouched by the fire. Belly up by morning anyways. Fire SUCKS majorly.
