your house
this is my first herp, I decided I'd start small and what i thought to be simple.

Ive had him for about a week now, he hasn't eaten nearly anything, there are 4 crickets in the tank thriving for about a week now with it, it ate a ladybug, but i dont even know how the lady bug got into the tank...

Anything else I should try feedining it other than live insectS? will it be ok? help plz.

also, he's alone, should he have a companion?

I beat you can tell I'm a :newbie:

When I have them I keep house geckos in small groups, don't know if it helps but I see them more often that way, I gve them lots of hiding places and keep them at about 78-82 degrees and keep a small trickle fountain in the tank. I feed them very small (3/8) crickets.

ya i would keep house gekos in groups of three

thanks, do you think theyd go for non living stuff? i could chop up the crickets a bit, but they are about 1/4" and the gecko is about 4" head to tail.

He has a water dish that I squirt and mist about twice-three times daily.

Geckos seldom eat anything that is not moving, with a full grown house gecko like yours you should be fine up to about 1/2" crickets, dust them with reptical, they can go a long time between meals. In my sisters lizard tank right now are three green anoles and two house geckos, there was a long tailed grass lizard but the cat got it. These lizards don't bother each other. If I put them in with the tokay geckos the would be eaten.

Cool. A little hunger strike never hurt my reptiles, and they usually come out of it swinging like a pride fighter. I have been thinking about some more geckos. I think it was Guppy who respawned the in my head when he seen one of my little vivariums. Just by chance, did you get your house geckos from Petco or somewere else?

I got mine from a small store in the mall called Trent Pet, I think they exist elsewhere, but i'm canadian, does trent pet exist in the states?
