I made my last stand for my 340 36" off the ground. Its nice sitting that high but can
be a pain when cleaning, long handled scrubbers are a must.:)

Yea I will def have to get some of them. The other plus about having no walls is I can set up a nice drip system without doing any damage.... cuz it has already been done lol

Yep, That is the biggest reason I have yet to set one up. I would essentially have to run lines right out in the open of my finished basement.

Update:
Had the electrical work done, should be finished on Monday. I also got most of the drywall up for it.
We got some light fixtures that will be put on both sides of the tank to accent it, along with track lights that will be mounted directly above the tank with a switch from the main room. Here are the pix

Should I put drywall on the bottom of the where the tank will sit or should i just leave it wood? I think it will look nicer if its finished and everything however im afraid what will happen if i get it wet..... I sopose I could get the bathroom drywall. I am open to suggestions.

u mean actually underneath the tank?

once u put the tank in place, just wrap the opening with a casing to hide all the edges. u will never see whts under the tank, i always do a layer of foam

Yea, thats what I mean, I sopose foam would be good as well... I could just pick up a sheet 1" thick. I just measured I can do sheetrock and then the foam. The stand is larger then what it needs to be so i would like to have it finished inside the room so it doesnt look like crap when the insurance guy comes to look at it.

looks very good! cant wait to see the tank up and goin!

i would try to stay away from putting drywall in areas that are gonna get wet. i have my top sealed pretty tight and the rays are still always splashing all over the place :irked:

i might have missed it but whts the plan for filtration?

Well..... remember Nickdogs tank he posted a while back his 4x8... with the two 5' towers..... Thats the tank i got my hands on, so i will be pluming both tanks into two sumps and the 5' towers with two f5s I will also have a shut of valve between the tanks so if I want to run them individually for some reason I can.
