Cool, But I'm thinking if I was gonna go for a 6x3x2, I'd just get a Jardini aro.

I dont know though, trying to figure out what size tank I'm going to put in my room, and what I can afford to get, and trying to think of a nice big agressive display fish.

I might get a 180 and then get a Black aro, like I really wanted to do last year, and if i have enough cash too do so this year, I probably will. Ofcourse the black aro will need a larger tank but a 180 should be pretty good for a long time.

But yeah, just trying to think of a good display monster, what tank size its going to need, and then trying to figure out how much I'm going to spend on fish+setup before I buy.

I'm going :nilly: trying to decide what to do. Aro, pbass, cichlids, polypterus, dats, catfish, and so on!

Getting a larger tank for a Jardini vs a Cichla is in my opinion a mistake and miscalculation of space needed to house the sp. So if you get a smaller tank and only house one fish I would say the less active ,slow moving, fish would be the way to go :) A 24" cichla makes a 24" arow of any specie look small in my opinion :)

I dont quite get whatr your trying to say. But a 6x3x2 is the correct tank size for a Jardini arowana. It was told to me when I was a n00b by OddBall, and others who frequent the arowana board.

I dont know though, might use the 180 for a black aro growout, or for a Dovii's slaughterhouse.

Well that maybe so but your pbass will require more space than a jardini so I would get the Jardini.

Yes. Any sp of Cichla(with maybe the exception of Intermedia) get 2 foot plus and they cannot turn nearly as well as Jardinis.

I have two pbass that I bought when they were only 3''. Now 4 months later they are about 5''. Their growth rate isnt to fast. I think that you could get 3-4 in a 180 for atleast 14-16 months.
