I'm thinking about ordering 1-3 @ 4 inches. At this size, will they be okay in a 75 gallon w/ 2 6" tigs and 2 4" hystix rays? I can probably do some moving around and put them in a 125 if needed. I'm only planning on keeping 1 in the long run. Will they likely fight w/ 2 or 3 of them? I just don't want a sure problem when they're in their temporary arrangements. After losing my armatus and coming upon this great deal, I think I might give ATF's a go...wish they were larger, but can't complain. I'm afraid to put them in with any other fish due to their skittish nature.

thanks in advance

2-tigs
2-rays
3-gatf

all in a 75g sounds like alot to me.

I guess if you had to it may work for awhile with lots of water changes and lots of food. so no one gets hungry and eats another .

I think the problem fish in that situation would be the tigs.

Yeah, it would be a lot of fish. The rays and tigs will hopefully be able to be moved pretty soon. Of course, it would also depend on the atf if the tank is big enough and I would move them and make it work if they tell me the tank is too small. So, you don't think the atf would fight amonst each other that much. I have done some research on gatf, but obviously not as much as I should have.

They should be ok for awhile. There really skinddish but when I had my four it seemed to make then less skiddish. Mine did pick at each-other when they hit the 8 inch mark but I had them in a 125. you should be ok you always have your 300

GATFs are weenies when they are small... they bairly swim (Like the Tig)... only prob I see is when the Tig gets close to size, u r risking an expensive feeder. With the rays, I thinkyou will be good for a long time.

At night, Tigs are most active right?

the tigs should hopefully be in the 300 by the time the atf's catch up to them. yeah, so far they're not at all active until the lights are out.

I would just be worried the gatf would end up being a snack. At 4" they are not as active and also they are skinny from top to bottom just like a nice piece of smelt so even one of the rays might have a go at it. But they do grow rather quickly so it might be alright but as I'm sure you know any catfish has the capacity to swallow things that you wouldn't think they could so one of the tigs could be very full when you turn the lights on in the morning. But I hope it works out for you gatfs are awesome fish to own. Good Luck.

that's a good point. Maybe I'll just try everything in the 210 and just have the GATF in the 75 for now by themselves. It did take the tigs like a week to eat a 2" jag, so I doubt they would go at the tigers, but it's not a risk I'd really like to take, especially if they're a small 4 inches.
