Yeah ok, cheesy title. First proper swarm of cichlid fry so pretty excited. They beat my Festae to the punch. What I have found impressive and unanticipated was that lately she and the male have started talking the babies on walks around the tank while this small. She has now over two days predicted within 20mins when the lights go out and gets them all back to the bottom of a giant pot full on the opposite side of a 180long. This is amidst 2 clown loaches, rainbow shark, 2 bichirs, 2 bristlenose plecos, 6 danios, and 4 silver dollars. Pretty impressive.

Impressive pair...Congrats.
Bowled over by the colors of the pair.
very soon you might have to move them over to a tank of their own....there will be lot of stress on the pair , the occupants and some missing fries as well.

Congrats! Awesome looking pair. :D The Ornate probably will eat some of the fry after lights out. Is it possible for you to divide off with egg crate?

Yeah I could put something in the tank to subdivide, but at this point I think I'll let things play out. If they spawn again, I may consider doing something like that. I haven't yet found any local retailers that want to take baby Parachromis. I have to work on that.

Pair looks great, and congrats on the fry! I don't think I have anywhere near that many festae fry - not sure if that's due to it being their first attempt or if parachromis just have bigger clutches, but that cloud of fry looks really cool.
