You know, when I first started raising fish, it was with guppies. I was told that guppies would give birth faster with live food. I tried with brine shrimp but they were too big. I then bought a packet of brine shrimp eggs and they were small enough to be eaten. I see that everyone is talking about heating the water to hatch the eggs but I just put the eggs in a jar and they hatched with no problem. Also, why do people think that the eggs need heat? The Doctor
I use to put mine on top of my modem

They hatch quicker when water is warmer (78 - 82). For me it means I can start a batch late at night and they're ready to harvest when I get in from work the next day, second harvest later that night then start the next batch. They're mostly for Endlers livebearers and there are always fry, but I also share the 'leftovers' amongst my other tanks - like giving the kids a bucket of popcorn as a treat between meals!
