Few days before I have received a big female motoro ray, I like to put her with my pair and try to make my male to reproduce with her believing that his not get the bigger p14 female. So I put her in the pond and open the recorder to catch every moment with the fear of a fight. No fights happen. My big p14 female after 78 days of pregnancy give birth of one bay. The female motoro eat it 6 second after birth. My only consolation is that I believe the baby was premature and dead, never going to be sure about that. After all the bad think happen the new female stress the p14 pushing her to give premature birth and after that it the baby. I want to kill that *****

is it possible to be not premature and alive the baby after only 78 days?

have any one else experience something like that?

First birth of ray at Greece are a fact!!!

Hard to say if it was alive.. Doubtful due to the short gestation. Probably as you said - aborted due to stress from new female. Sorry for your loss. Better luck next time.

Couldn't really comprehend all that but did u say ur ray had a pup then it ate it?

New ray was introduced
Old pregnant ray give a birth of one baby
New ray eats the baby

this is the story in titles

is it possible the present of the new female push the birth, the new not teas the old ray until she expelled the amniotic fluid?
is it possible 78 days to be enough days for a p14?

new female eat the baby are this a hostile movement or is it possible to do it at her babys?

I doubt the pup was alive, or would have survived if it was. I don't have p14s but from what I have read about them they have a longer gestation period than most rays.

Never seen a female do that to her pups, or other females pups for that matter. I have seen rays start eating dead rays, but never live rays, it probably won't happen if the pups are alive.
