Yes, I second that statement. First, the eel forum. Then, the loach forum.:irked: What do we need next? Goby forum?

Kind of a hostile reply, srry for the suggestions. What I don't understand is replyng to threads that are 3 months old? This suggestion had already been shot down...kinda senseless to bring it up again.

Can we please have a sub forum on sub forums?

And we'll need a subforum forum lounge.

Maybe we could have a sub forum on sarcasm too.

Not a problem, but since this has been reopened, let me express new thoughs I have on this.

Since there is very little posting of loaches here on MFK I have gone to another forum regarding loaches. I would beleive that MFK is losing prospective members. Because prospective members who's main focus is on loaches, can't find a loach forum here they'll go somewhere else. Currently in our bottom dwellers section we have 4 or 5 threads on loaches that have had activity on them in the past couple of days, while a popular loach forum has well over 50 active threads.

I realize I am not familiar with all the behind the scenes activities, etc. it takes to run a website. More sub forums may lead to more clutter, but if it results in the benefits of increased membership, then mabye it should be considered.

I agree with Brian. Things should be seen from a dynamic perspective..and if there are abundant loach people, why shouldn't MFK ( extra work and eventual costs and etc obviously pondered ) cater for those people needs?

Also, I would add, that suggestions by members ( who are not downright non feasible or plain stupid ) should be encouraged. They show that members are involved, are thinking on issues beyond their mere posting...and that is the backbone of a healthy community..

Maybe it is not possible to open a new sub forum; maybe it is not worth the extra whatever...but the suggestion was a meritory one, in my book.:)

But why do you have to have a forum labeled "loaches" to post about loaches? That doesn't make any sense.

Loaches are bottom feeders... so make loach posts in the bottom feeder section. Why would making another section called "loaches" cause people to post a bunch more?

That's my thought, also. I try and answer loach questions whenever I can, and it doesn't matter if it is under the general discussion or bottom dwellers or if it was under some loach/botia sub-forum.

Though I have learned a lot from the other loach site, I keep all of my activity on here to help out MFK.
