I'm just comparing to my former female zonatus based off body shape and metallic dorsal fin. Temperament means nothing, as Paratheraps males and females are nasty.

Regardless, the fish appears to be in breeding/stressed/anger coloration which isn't the best for IDing.

Just as an example, here is her breeding colors and angry colors vs. normal color. They can be quite different.

The face is 100% not Fen...Thats all I know...The body does look Fen....

is this fish always that color? sorry i think i missed a previous thread on it.

i have a female pink fene that gets rather black looking areas on here like the OP pics, while breeding. so could this be male colors with less red showing around the head?

just a thought.

He normally has quite a bit more blue on the flanks, so I doubt he's a pink. I am 100% sure he's a male though.
