Love these guys. I'd love to to have a tank for every species in the genus.

wow, that is the best looking centrarchus I have had the pleasure to see. of course it's rare to see pics of adult centrarchus...I'm sure the other's that are keeping them and have posted them in this thread will have some stunning specimens as well once they are full grown...you just beat them to it. :) Well done!!

Picked up a couple of these a month or so back - check out their war paint.

Anyone know if spinosissimus are still available in the hobby? I would love to get a pair.

There was one male at the ACA last year. Other then that I haven't seen any for a couple years. They seem to have faded out of the hobby or at least are very very rare at the moment. Last time I talked to Don Conkel he talked like he would be collecting a few of the rarer crypto's again this year. He mentioned the gold sajica's which I have been on the hunt for and hopefully he will get some spinos as well.

Great pics everyone!! Keep them coming.

The male I posted is actually close to 6". He is a big boy. Colorwise it looks very much like the nice speciman of Diogenes. I just suck really bad at taking pictures:(.

Great looking female. One of my favorites of the group.

Great nano's!! They are an excellent little fish. Plus they stay so small.

I haven't seen spinies in some time but I bet that they're out there.

I sold my two breeding pairs before moving from Cali to MD... basically gave them away... as no one seemed to want them... and they were some of the last fish in my fishroom.

I traded lots of little ones from those guys to a few LFS in Sacramento as well.

They're pretty darn peaceful fish - mine quit breeding when I added some 1-2" spilurum to their tank - so I'd bet that the vast majority of them were thrown into tanks with stuff that killed them.
