Yes, but as I said I only had one male in the end and he turned out to be nasty just on his own.

Cryptoheros are usually a step down from convict but get fiesty when breeding and dominant males can nip fins. I've never had any fight to the death though.
It's been my experience that breeding cutteri will beat the snot out of breeding con's of equal size.

It seems like everyone's experience has been slightly different. Maybe I will try out a juvenile cutteri and see how it goes. Part of me thinks I should start with a juvenile sajica though since everyone seems to think they are even more docile than cutteri. Hmmmmmmm

IMO I think if you make the sajica one of the last to add to the tank you will be fine. Its only when I addd new fish to his territory I got problems. And he became territorial after just 2 weeks in the tank.

they should be fine. The only thing my cutteri's picked on was each other. Solo they just focused on eating.

I think it ok either or both if u want to be safe add females well I say that but my female hrp is bad to the bone but she is paired and has two sets of fry with her in the tank but memories serve right she was a firecracker before parenting just try it out if nothing else keep reciepts LOL
