Just like the title said I am wondering what do they eat besides pellets because I just got one at 10+ inches from my brother inlaw and this one is super friendly. He doesnt eat my plants however he does move them around from time to time. His tank mates are 4 geo red heads around 4 in and a female BRP around 5+in plus 2 little otos around less than 1.5 inches. SHould i worrie about my otos getting eaten or is it rare to see them alive? they are all housed in a 75 gal. seems kinda small for them so i might just remodel so there will be more swimming room.

then i guess i am lucky to have this one since he has been in my tank there has no problems except with the BRP i think she wants to breed or something or just doesnt want him in the tank. do they eat fish too?

They can eaty live food but not recommended-my eat pellets, blood worm, and massivore pellets.

They can be pretty nasty, but it depends on the fish. The one I just gave away demolished my Parachromis in less than a day.

ok thanks i dont really like breeding hybrids but what if the BRP and the vieja breed how would the behavoir be so i can stop it and move the vieja out??

Wow! They usually aren't that mean, the one I have minds his own business but doesnt let itself get harrassed either.

Well, let me correct myself real quick.... mine was a bifaciatus, not synspilum

Has anyone have experience in breeding them? well what i am after is the characteristic of how they start breeding rather than information on the net saying that they will pair up and stuff like that. I would like to know what happens visually of the courtship.
