THE 850
I was wondering about the agression level of RTCs. Are they aggresive or just predatory? I have heard both ways and was wondering before I stick it in my tank.

Wouldn't want a 3 foot homicidal jungle cat  in my tank.

P. S. The homicidal jungle cat is the name of a calvin and hobbes book for all who don't know ;)

mine was not agressive at all but predatory.. Unless your tank is at least 1k I woulnd't get one.

You're looking at almost double the 3' you think they get to. They're not overly aggressive. But, they're extremely fast-growing and have appetites to support that growth. My little RTC isn't quite 2 years old yet and he's well over 2 feet. He's eaten fish 2/3rds his size (on purpose). You wouldn't want him eating tankmates by accident. Mine shares a 450gal with a similar fast growing flathead cat. I figure, by next fall, I'll have to move the 2 to the 650gal.

I have my 6" RTC in a 200 with a 10" royal clown knife. My RTC is not aggressive towards the knife, but he does not back down to him in any way shape or form when fighting over the best hiding spot in the tank. And when it comes to food, he won't let anyone move him out of the way. He is an eating machine.

these cats are probably the fastest growing fish i have ever seen.

Makes me want to buy a pool.
