Like the title says, do they nip other none tiger barb fish if there is 6-8 of them, or do they keep it all to themselves? I hate to see nipped fins. :irked:

I've only ever kept them in species tanks but they sure do beat up each other pretty badly. I can only imagine another fish in with them would suffer the same fate unless it was faster or more aggressive.

I never had a problem with them when I kept them. They chased each other and that was it.

Then again, I'm the guy who kept peaceful demasoni and aggressive orangeheads. I have some sort of voodoo hex on fish, I think.

I had them with a pair of convicts and they sure tried to keep to themselves. lol

I have 8 in my 65gal with bichirs & cichlids...I think I've seen them nip at a bichir ONCE in the month+ that I've had them all in there. For the most part they just hang out or chase each other around. I REALLY like them, I think they're pretty badass.

Enough personality to be a very interesting dither, but not so much that you get attached to each one or the group as a whole like you do to a good cichlid or oddball or something like that.

Exactly, I like them too. I think I'm leaning towards getting them probably 8.

Hopefully since there were only other tiger barbs.
