Due to the rescent mishap on my part with WC (see my other thread), my aro's eyes turned into this and he's constantly breathing through his mouth (gasping lightly).

Sorry for the large pics, I am trying to be as detailed as possible...

Any inputs are appreciated..

To me it appears that it is suffering from near suffocation. 240 gallon is a big tank but with no agitation or air O2 can deplete rather quickly. It should heal over time I would think.

I hope so, I added 3 airstone and a litlle bit of salt, 1 tablespoon per 20 gallon since yesterday. I may increase the salt dosage again tonight

Leave the salt add melafix

If it is due to near suffication, how will that help? Isnt melafix antibacterial? Salt will help with stress.

Dont know anything about your prob, but I do hope everything goes well

is probably also related to pH fluctuation as well. add the salt, skip the melafix...melafix can lower the O2 in the water and also has issues with surface interface/gas exchange, so go with a little salt, but that's it.--

I ran PH monitor on all my tanks, the PH stay stabled at 6.7 before, during and after WC

I'll try to skip melafix for now...just by reading more into it, it seems to treat bacterial infection which can happen during stress and suffocation (metbaolism went down, the fish are prone to catch becaterial infection) but I think, relieving the stress and increase Oxygenation will helps them first.

If this don't help in 2-3 days, then I'll transfer him to a hospital tank with melafix.
