1. How big of a tank for a undulated?

2. How big of a tank for a clown?

3. How big of a tank for a picasso?

How fast do each grow and how long can I keep one in a 50gal max? It would be the only resident.

Can I have live rock and coral with those triggers?

i would say on the Undulated and clown maybe a year if that ..the picasso i am not sure i don't think they grow as fast

i would not put any live coral in with any triggers...live rock sure ..but the will eat at it on biggie thats nature...keeps their TEETH nice and SHARP lol

1. So I should still get liverock right?

2. How much live rock for a 50gal?

3. Any popular recommendations of protein skimmers?

4. Are sumps or wet/drys mandatory for a SW tank? I was thinking a canister 2-3x stronger than how much a 50gal really needs, with a turnover rate of 6-7.

40 to 50 lbs of rock ..if you don't use a wetdry at least use the rock and a skimmer my #1 choice would be berlin type

Make sure you get some supplementary filtration on there. Some people thing LR and a protien skimmer are enough. Triggers are gonna crap and eat a lot so its your choice. As for a protien skimmer recomendation. Get a BAK PAK

Whats the dimensions of the 50g?? The smallest the undulate will still get 10 inches and by the time you have live rock in there the tank needs to be pretty wide. Canisters arent the best for marine tanks as they produce nitrates unless cleaned out every few days but since your only gonna have a trigger it should be ok. If the water quality ends up being ok i would still try a few cheap easy corals as i have owned an undulate who never bothered any corals unless it was by accident attacking crabs and shrimps i fed him.
