hi,
im wondering how fast peacocks grow, i have had mine for 2.5 months and they grew about an inch and some less:swear:. im feeding them on nls and flake foods. they are living in a 60 gallon aquarium. i have different species but im wondering what the average max length is and at what age it is attained?
thanks

Average peacock size is between 5 - 7 inches depending upon species. Males will be larger. Takes about 3 years to reach that size. Fish growth rate is dependent upon water temperature, frequency and type of food, tank size, and frequency of water changes.

Yeah I figured that it has so many factors effecting it, I wish I researched how long it would take before I bought them, I was under the impresion that a year or less an they would be a good size. Thanks for the info I just learned to take growth rate into consideration from now on.

i have a red zebra male who is the same size as my 2 largest peacocks around 2.5" and although he has his aggressive chasing times he is really calm and mellow at feeding and even my little 1" peacocks can eat. i find it funny that my yellow regal peacock colored up in 2 weeks but my strawberry peacock took 1.5 months to color up. i might just stick with them because the rewards are really worth the time.
