How big can oscar get

while youtubing, i searched up big oscar fish. and there was one that is 16 inches. and my friend said it ain't possible for a oscar to get that big. so my question is;

1. Can oscar really get up to 16inches?

2. How can I measure my oscar? just by inches from head to end of the tail?

I've heard 16 inches MAX. But really more like 14 is the tops.

Oscars can reach a foot in about a year and over a long long time a bit longer.

I think the record is around 18", but I know they can get to at least 16".

Those could be 16" Oscars, some of them.

I had 3 that were all between 14-15" I currently have two that are about a year old and at the 10" range.

My buddy has a three year old O that is 16".

He had one in Puerto Rico 10 years ago, don't know how old it was, but he got up to 18".

I have two, one is 13" the other is less than a year old and he's 11".
