how big could my jag possibly get

He was a fun because he would try to murder people through the tank so he was a fun fish for guest but it was a single 11 inch fish in a 6 foot tank that bit you. At least my current one tolerates other fish and is respectful of my hand

werd i had one that was like 8 inches he would try to bite my hand during water changes. i gave him back to the store with a 14 inch buttikoferi i bought. i had them divided cuz they would relentlessly fight. i went back a couple weeks later looking for the jag just to see him and they told me he got killed by the buttikoferi. i looked at the guy i was like you mean to tell me you have hundreds of big tanks here and you couldnt keep them seperate. i knew they fought them and watched the jag get killed cuz thats just something a doushbag would do. i never looked at that store the same after n i ended up just wishing i woulda never gave up the jag

Looks like we're on the same mission, I've decided to leave my male jag in his 125 by himself instead of getting him a female and am hoping to get him to at least the 16" mark if not bigger. He's roughly 18 months old and has just passed the 10" mark finally, he seems to have hit a 2nd growth spurt... Either that or it's just because I was goin crazy wondering if he was growing and quit paying such close attention to his growth so now he's just looking bigger to me. Been going crazy with the water changes recently also, seems to be helping quite a bit.

Good move though deciding to give your 125 to your jag, he's gonna love it. When I got rid of my Midas, festae, and salvini, he was way more active... started glass banging a little bit and digging a lot more also. I'm sure you'll see some differences in yours as well, keep us updated on how it goes once he's on his own.

But keep in mind that thing is most likely ancient and kept alone in a large tank. Most of us can only hope to get near that things size. That jag is to our Jags what Mel's dovii is to regular dovii.

that's like the Hercules of jags... I can only hope/try though. greenterra really has some awesome stuff. but yeah the firemouth that I have is nice and I had really high hopes for my Cuban so I had a change of heart im gonna play close attention to my tank and make sure things don't get crazy but if things go wrong I wont hesitate to pull someone. im getting store credit for my mayan and Dempsey though cuz they are basically my least favorite fish imo plus my tanks bioload will go down which is always good for the other fish
