Hi
could you tell me how big comets grow so I can upgrade my tank and let them grow without them being stunted

according to live aquria.com 1 foot 2 inches, which means the minimum tank size is about 180 gallons. If you plant on owning more than 1 you should really consider a pond or a really large tank.

1 foot long? They get larger than a foot long, not mentioned that they have long flowing fins.

14" sounds about right, but I think the minimum tank size suggestion is a bit exaggerated. IMO, a 180 would be good for about 5-6 adults with adequate filtration and maintenance. For a single comet, a 90 gallon would do.

Agreed.

From what I know and what I see if u keep them in a very large tank they can reach up to 36" my uncle bought one for .15 cents and it's now over two feet

I'm thinking what you have there is a koi. :)

Personally I have seen some 16" plus comet goldfish before so they do get larger than a foot due to the flowing long fins.
