And What do you feed them Are blood worms an ok staple frozen that is!!! What do you feed them to get a healthy Flowerhorn we have already established mine is a low grade lets go for size now!!!

females usually stay smaller, like my 3.5yr old female is decent grade but prolly no real name, but she's about 7" long and about 4" tall. i feed her strictly hikari pellets. she wont touch anything else. but hikari has the most ballanced mix for a staple.

I think female flowerhorns look cool heres mine i do now know why everyone thinks it is so ugly

She is about 4 inches

maybe if you put it on a different substrate like more natural, its colors would stand out more? maybe?

The technicolor substrate takes my eyes away from the flowerhorn.

Hansoi has a possible female thats like 8 inches, thats pretty big, I very rarely see them any bigger than about 9-10 inches tops.

But of course that could be because of the fact that usually if someone has a female they aren't trying to bulk it up but rather breed it with a much larger male.

It also depends on the breed. The older breeds used to get massive compared to some of the newer ones. An old school female could probably easily push over 8 or 9 inches while the newer ones might top out a little earlier.

Like natural do you mean the like brownish looking stuff i had some blackich brownish white pebbles like rounded creek rocks small type that i got at wal mart and it looked like crap with those color is better with this

Well substrate can affect the color of your fish by making it pale out or darken.

I am just saying as someone looking at your picture that it is hard to notice the color of your flower horn with all that brightly colored gravel underneath it.

Maybe if you take a shot froma lower angle or just one without the gravel we can see its true colors like you do.

Does that make sense? Like my eyes are seeing the vibrant colors of the gravel in your picture and your flowerhorn is being compared to neon colored gravel and it can't match it.
