She looks very nice! How's she eating?

HUH.... Why Wait? Just wondering.

I've always heard that breeding them stops their growth because of the massive amount of energy spent.

Thanks. She's a slow eater just like my male. Definitely not a pig by any means.

Oh... Then I would likely feel the same about waiting :)

Breeding really doesn't affect males as much. Much less energy expended vs. the females (no egg production). Though guarding and raising fry will boost the energy expenditure some.

I say do it now.

Balton,

That is a nice female. My female is about 7" and still growing strong. I have seen 8" female and 10"+ plus male. My male is anywhere between 8.5" to 9.5". Do you have any pictures of your male?

Be patient M_M. All in good time. :)

Thank you Polomax, that's the kind information I'm looking for.

I'll be happy to show you a pic of the male. You know I'm a picture wh*re.

Very nice Grammodes, hopefully they'll turn out to compatible and make great looking fry.

Nice looking pair!

I'd breed them now (as many have already said). It can be a benefit to have a smaller female as it makes it easier for the "separate bedroom" divider method to work since she will be easily able to fit into escape holes that he can't.

I appreciate the compliment ProblEmZ....I've been working hard to take good care of them.

I don't want to breed them until the male looks like the one in your avatar but I may give in early. The female could turn out to be too much for the male. She doesn't liplock, she attacks guerilla warfare style from the side.
