How big do female red terror's / festae get?

I agree a 75 will do for a while since festae are fairly slow growers, but once she hits 7-8 inches or so, a 75 will get tight.
Females will often grow faster and larger without a male in the tank, mine always remained about half the size of males, but without the male around did not always show best colors.

when I gave her, her own tank, her colors tended to fade. Same female below in her own tank

I had a full grown wild caught female from COA and it even had a hump on its head but was no bigger than 10 inches (maybe a little more), this fish is always exaggerated with size and strength as I have learned over the years.....still a contender.....
a male will grow a few inches bigger but not the 14 or 16 inch size that people talk about....
have you ever seen a picture of them that big? No!

HA! That's just not true, a female can certainly hit 13 inches if given the chance. Males wit easily hit 15 if given the right environment

I will say that it is uncommon, that given the fact that they often aren't given the adequate environment. all I'm saying is that they can hit that size and if the tank is big enough and you have good genes in your fish, it will happen.

Notice the dates those videos were posted. The male is 15 and female is 13 now.
They have grown a little more since that tread was posted.

Yes I need to get some recent pics. Just in case I were to lose one of the pair or something, they are getting some age on them now. I think I have had these for about 8 years or so.
Im at work now, But I will try to get that done and post some up.
May try to do a video I think you can tell more from a video about their true size.
