I have bichirs, loaches, tin foil barbs, and adding an arowana soon.. will they be ok? Does it discolor things like how ick remover does? and is the disease common even after the first couple months of not having it in my tank? thanks in advance for the reply

It is not a disease. It is a parasite. It can come from any where like a new fish or feeders. Dont worry about it. Just use as a preventative a few times a year is all.

I agree, I use Gel Tek once a month on my loaches.
