yeh probs true...but mine have kinda stopped growing and are skinnier cause i refuse to put in live food...trying to get them on massivores or dead fish...any of u had luck with these???

I haven't had any luck getting my RCK on pellets, he will eat scallops, mussels,shrimp and earthworms...mine is roughly 18-19". He gets live food once in a while, tadpoles, minnows as a treat .. My opinion live food seem to trigger a hormone release which cause them to grow faster. Right now he's slowed down growing lengthwise it seems , but he's getting thicker

Have any other of the fish been taking pellets? Usually, it seems that other fish will learn from other fish what they can eat. Every time I get a new fish, I have to put some size on it before I put it in the main tank. So I feed it mostly live and occasional frozen bloodworms. Once they go in the main tank, they may not eat for a week, but they notice the other fish eating the non-live food and will eventually eat it.

my 33 inch dude wont east any thing other than feeders same as my two 18 inchers but my 4 5 inch long ones eat pellets and blood worms from my experience best to ween them onto pellets as young as possible

a lot of the time bigger fish wont touch pellets because they are so small they lose interest.

3-5 years depending on how much u feed them!
