An update on this, I went ahead and moved this cat out of the tank. It actually was as easy as I thought, I waited till he was in the PVC pipe, covered both ends and removed it and then dumped the cat into a large cooler filled with tank water. The move went very smoth and now I miss him, but he was just getting to big for the tank.

Dayum, I bet you wish you had a pond at your house now aye.

You did the right thing. I just moved my hybrid out of a tank the same size and the fish was the same size as your's. Hmmm, now it's time to try something with the big boy and my redtail......

I do, I miss the big guy. When I get a house I know I will be in for a while, I will make sure to build a pond, that way I won't have that problem again.

all i kno is that there fast growers

Incredibly fast, I was amazed that in 7 months he had grown to the size he did, it didn't help how I fed him either though.

I know I did, it just sucks, I thought it was going to take longer for him to out grow the tank, but i guess not. I am thinking of something else to put in the tank to replace him, but I'm in no hurry.

Channel cats grow at least 1" per month if healthy. I got mine at 3" and put him in my 27 gallon tank. Within a year I moved him outside in the pond. 3 years later he is a little over 2' long.

Do you have any pictures of him?

No I don't have any pictures, but I do have video of the tank, you can see him in the PVC pipe (he stayed in there all the time accept at night).

Yep they are fast growers, mine grew quicker than 1" a month, I was amazed, he was great though, very gental hand feeder.
