Here are a couple more pictures of our Pacu's withe their tankmates. A couple of Tinfoil Barbs, a Pleco, a handful of Firemouth Meeki, and some other odds and ends!

We got (adopted) our 180 about 4 months ago and the fish (except for the Pacu's ) came with the tank. The Tinfoils are about 6 years old we are told. There was 1 other but he didn't survive the transport:( The tank was kind of a mess when we got it. No aeration and not enough adequate filtration, no heaters ect. Upgrading and cycling the tank was no easy task! The firemouth meeki almost completely lost her tail. It has now since grown back and all the fish are ok (minus the Tinfoil Barb). It had 2 Silver Dollars( about 6" each) that we re-homed to a friend. We saw the Pacu's at our local pet store. Some :screwy: had the 2 of them in a 90 gallon and dumped them at the fish store when they got too big(He brought each one in a 5 gallon Pail). They were so cute and we thought they needed a better home so.....The biggest one has a piece of pink gravel stuck in his nose. We have contemplated taking it out... But not sure how. It doesn't seem to bother him.
We are relatively new to "fishkeeping" but we are completely "Hooked". We want MORE and BIGGER!! It really is addictive! Are there any 12 step programs out there??;) We are planning on getting another 180 and splitting out tank...although there is much harmony in the tank as it is.

just wanted to add.....These are great pictures...!;)

Thanks Liz
The Pacu's are real hams. Any time we even enter the room they are there, noses pressed against the glass wanting attention (and food!) I try to trick them...Walking into the room with the lights off ect. But they always spot me. I try to watch them when they don't know that I'm looking!! slightly crazy...I know!! I saw some of your other pictures on another thread. WOW! How many tanks do you have??? I am in awe!

Pacus are hams.. the sweetest thing about them is i intoduced a african cichlid into their tank a few weeks ago..there was just no where for this cichlid to go because it was always being bullied.. and many times we found it near death.. {the pacus up until last year} for 6 years had a red tail shark with them.. now you know he is a little itty bitty next to them..but they protected him until he died of old age..so any way i had the bright idea to try this little african with them..and they just love him.. and in reality one accidental mouth ful would be the end of the little fish.. but he swims underneath them.. when i threw in the zucchni to the pacu the cichlid ran off with a piece in his mouth.. I think he thinks thats Mama and Papa.. haha ..so as big as they are is also as sweet as they are.. And yes i have quite a few tanks..about 22.. now :D
