how big of a tank

do you need for 4 peacock bass this guy on another website is telling me that i need an aquarium with more than 1500 gallons of water...for 4

it really depends on the footprint. a 8' x 4' footprint would pretty good, but i would suggest going bigger

8 foot long by 5 foot wide- do that and they will LOVE it

I think the guy that told you that is going a little to far I have a 1032 gallon tank and you could put atleast 8 Peacock Bass in that-so Imagine 1500 gallons!

i guess it depends on what species, but id say something at least 8ft long and at least 4ft wide as well. These guys get big and are very fast swimmers, especially when feeding so lots of room is key

Obviously Temensis are going to need the most room since, please correct me if I'm wrong, they are the largest cichla species. But yeah, 1500 gallons is a bit overkill, even for four tems.

I believe of the more commonly available pbasses - Monos grow in captivity to about 24". Though I'm sure some can get bigger, whereas Tems and Orinos grow to 30-36".

a tank 8 x 4 x 2 is about 500 gallons. that would be good for a few bass. so it doesnt really matter the gallons just the foot print. you could have a 64x1x1 which also 500 gallons but no bass could fit in that tank. so it really depends on the foot print
