How big tank I need for Peacock Bass ?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Well maybe some smaller stuff like convicts, firemouths, or Jack Dempsy!!! Just make sure they aren't so small that they can eat them and they should be alright...

I've had Jags with my Oscars before seemed to work out for me I think you would be alright if you got a small one... If your Oscars are 12 inches get a 6 inch jag.... Thats what I would do but thats just me...

you could probably get away with a single Shovelnose (maybe) tank still might be too small for a full grown one!!!

How about a clown knife?? or are they a little bit to big?? help me out here people.

i love when people say ohh they need this huge tank when 90% of mfk members have too small of tanks for the fish they keep. Honestly p-bass get too big for most aquariums but be like everyone else here and get them anyways...

lol you have a point there... anyways my peacocks ***** the **** out of my wild caught oscars llol

my 3 inchers have eatten goldfish lol not uncommon at all... go back and check my pics look at the convict stick in my basses mouth... its a few topics down

well this might upset some ppl but i bought two peacock bass for my 268gal tak, 7'x2.5'x2' and they will be sharing the home with five oscars and a bichir and pleco. to me that is all that would fit 'comfortably in my tank.

so in my opinion do it man, if it doesnt work out, trade them in.

agreed.. have good water quality and worry about it if they get stress that will last u about 3 years.. have any pics
?

raise them up, they sell for a good price when they get bigger.
