I have a male and a female Kenyi. (I'm adding more females within the next two weeks) I was wondering how big the female needs to be before she will be able to breed. And what I can do to help.....set the mood. ;)

To set the mood wine and a candlelight dinner work well. As for size, it doesnt realy matter much but the general rule is the bigger she is the less wine she will need to drink before she is willing to breed.

My Kenyi was about 2 inches when she tossed away her V-card (the first time I noticed anyway)

Set the mood... A light enough substrate so the male can dig it up, or sand. they like to clear a nice spot to drop the eggs, then it is easier for the mama to pick them back up...

here is a few (bad) pics of the fry @ about 1 cm

The fry are so cute! I want babies!

It's very cute. The male Kenyi is getting less tolerant of my boyfriend and I standing near the tank and looking at them. And he has cleared out this massive spot under the driftwood for her to lay the eggs I guess. He's never gotten mad about me looking in the tank before, but he even changed colors. He hasn't done that in months. I'm so excited. I wish she would hurry up and give it up.

He should be yellow. I he turned back to blue, then he feels sub-dominant.

Needs to be yellow & dominant,

Not really changing colors. Bad choice of words. His stripes get darker when he's angry, or territorial. Still yellow, just with stripes. From what I understand it's common with Lombardi.
