Hello,

i think i will learn two things here: More about Polypterids and more about the english language ... now i've learned a bit more about point two.
Fortunately my mishap causes laughter and has no abusive tendencies ...

Greetings

Uwe

:D Wasn't trying to be offensive. :D
I really am interested to learn more about this organ, I wounder if Anne has posted something about this?! I will have to search!

my Senegals have pretty good eye site, they recognize when people walk by the tank and then they beg for food

I think my one senegal is pretty old, I dont know I picked him up as an adult, and he makes his way around the tank easily, but ever since he moved to a bigger tank, he has had a harder time finding food, so i would say thier vision isnt that good... However, I would agree that they are good at smelling out food though, my growouts seem to sense the bloodworms are in the tank before they see them somehow, kind of like a snake with a mouse.

Notice the difference in size of the parts of the brain that process vision
and olfactory information
