Last night I forgot to close a lid open on one of my tanks. This morning I got up and found my Pantostictus dead on the floor. I look in my tank for closer inspection and I didn't see my Istlanum either. Now I'm panicing looking around on the floor...there he was dead on the side of the tank. How can I be so stupid? I've accidently left it open before and nothing happened but this time I TWO FISH?!!! I'm really bummed out. :(
 
This should be posted in "Lessons Learned". I have done that before and lucked out. Sorry for your loss.

They were both on the ground they jumped out of the tank...RIP

I have left lids open before also. Especially the tanks with canopies. It is way easy to miss on those. I never had one jump that way but my Dovii, jag, Elect blue cray, and tri mac have all met fate in that way. They all seem to escape by the hole for the HOB...
 
Thanks you guys...lesson learned the hard way. Actually I know to shut the lid but for some reason I forgot last night. I got home late, fed the fish and left the left-side lid open and went to bed. From now on I'll check and double check before I hit the sack.
