That is good to hear about the water. I was going to get an extra tank for my gobi. He seems to be doing great. It must depend of what the gobi is used to. I will use a turkey baster to feed him blood worms as long as he hides in the cave he stays in most of the time because the other fish are too big to get in the cave to take his food away. When I use the flashlight to peek at him in the cave, he sticks his head out as if he is saying "I am still here. I am alright".
