Ouch!! Well that sucks a little bit!! Haven't really ever had a pike jump before personally, but its been known to happen. Serious bummer yo!! Hopefully you plan on investing in another pike, question is, which species ya gonna get this time? ;)
I WANT ONE I JUST DONT HAVE THE TANK SPACE. I MIGHT GET A XINGU 1. BUT I NEED TO SAVE UP. ILL KEEP YOU POSTED.

pike found!!!!!!!! hidden in a piece of wood, it was out of the tank for like 20 mins. i though my cats got at it but i guess not. and he is now gorging on omega one shrimp pellets. i did as directed and starved him now he eats them right of the bottom.

Sweeet!! Thats awesome! Tis always a relief to find those missing fish! LoL! I think his scare/close to death experience made him realize he needs to start eating those pellets! Ha...

lmao! i agree. i shouldnt have assumed he was dead but my cats love to mess with him.i actually just got him to eat massivore!! also peanut...why does my b.c. not have a spot on his dorsal but the ones at my work do..???? how big do they get on average? can i keep him with my p. senegal and p. ornatipinnis? and last but not least how do i sex it? vent?

Spot in the dorsal and some red on the sides means its a female. If yours is lacking this, it should be a male. Perhaps its not big enough yet though, so give it a few more inches before you declare its gender! ;) On average they get between 8 to 10". Not very many people keep them till they are that large though. Keeping it with the polys might be a problem. B.C. like to hug the bottom, and will defend it religiously, and since the polys are pretty much bottom dwelling, it could cause problems. Its possible it might work though.

Well, there are several pikes that look similar to belly crawlers....so its very possible that it can. The one that I had and was labeled as sp. 'belly crawler' and looked just like every text book b.c. got 10" before he died. Perhaps it was a fluke? ;)
