I never said anything about rushing,it takes what it takes and it is what it is.I was mainly agreeing with someones comment that the NGT seems to be the most stubborn an if you've experienced different then thats great.

i would set a routine ,
i turn on the tank light in the morning , this tells the dats i am going to drop some food in as i have always done this after a light switch on ,
so when that light gets on they all start a bit of pushing and now its gonna be a game of snatch between themselves , i can drop anything in there now in the morning and they wrestle for it even the catfish pellets, in the eve i vac the gravel and do some maintenance then drop a frozen bloodworm or krill in to take their mind off the fact that i have had my hand in the tank for a while , later on about 8pm i go back and turn off the light ,
i think routine is good for fish as they know your there to feed at a certain time
