how can i quiet down the water noise on my turtle tank

Put foam under the waterfall. Foam, floss etc

tack a piece of filter matt and shove one end of it into the filter and let the other end hang into the tank. i do this and there is NO noise.

you could easily use some driftwood or some fake plants to decrease the impact on the surface of the water. if you wanted to, you could use some acrylic and silicone and create "steps" to ease the water down to the surface as well. I have used this method in the past myself and it completely eliminated any noise of water falling at all
