What's up MFK, I think I got a problem on my hands, maybe a lot of them!!!!!
When I got my saltwater set up it had what the old owner told me were button Polyps!!!!
So I went searching the web trying to find out what kind they were but the more I read the more I'm starting to believe they are Glass Anemone!!!!!!
They are everywhere and on everything!!!! Funny thing is I thought switching tanks killed a lot of them but they just started popping up after a few days now they're on everthing in my tank!!!!!!
Does anyone know of a good/easy way to tell them apart?????
I've got pics but they look so crappy they prob wouldn't help!!!!

Thanks Drew

One way is by size - Aiptasia will get around 2-3 inches in length. the tentacles are much longer than the disc diameter, and the color is a rather uniform transparent pink-brown my polyps have like a more green tint to them and they are most of the time shorter... hope that helps!:):):):):)

Yeah, I read that somewhere online!!! Some of them are tall but they also have the green tint you speak of!!!! I'm straight confused, SOS right now!!!!!!

get a few peppermint shrimp and see if they start disappearing :)

From experience if you stress them, polyps close up. Those anemones completely disappear

Some site I was looking on said anemone will hide in rock till they feel safe!!!
I'm gone poke at a couple and see what happens!!!!!
These things better polyps or it's war!!!! Lmfao!!!!!

Oh and I heard peppermint shrimp might eat them but it ain't no promise!!!!
I also seen some slug that only eats them but will starve to death after they're gone!!!!

I read about injecting them with boiling hot water or lemon juice!!!!
And please don't take my response as if I think I think I know it all cause if I did I wouldn't have made this thread!!! Lol

I put 2 peppermint shrimp in my 30g and i had about 10-15 aiptasia and they were all gone in a week...
