Thanx for the info guys..i will look around for those paticular lights. also, I'm i getting the wrong info on anubias...one of you said they were not african...but.. "Anubias is a genus of aquatic and semi-aquatic flowering plants in the family Araceae, native to tropical central and western Africa. They primarily grow in rivers and streams, but can also be found in marshes. They are characterized by broad, thick, dark leaves that come in many different forms. The genus was revised in 1979[1] and since then its nomenclature has been stable. Species can be determined by using mostly characteristics of the inflorescence. Because of the often shady places where the plants grow, the genus was named after the Egyptian god Anubis, the god of the afterlife
maybe plant geek is wrong. they have them listed under south america though tropica has them as Africa.

1. What kind of light is that in the second pic?

the lights are just the same as the ones that mgamer20o0 has mentioned he uses and is suggesting in his link.

they are just for a 75 gallon long tank so they are 5 feet long.

the fixture is a regular t5 HO fixture with reflectors and ballasts for 2 85W t5HO bulbs. very rare bulbs and i have had trouble stocking up on replacements but they are great. you will get the same effect (not a lot of fixture but tons of light) with the 4 footer. mine is only 85w to cover five feet long, not to make more output. its the same as a four foot, dual 54W fixture for a regular, 4 foot long 75 gallon tank. i love the lights.

further more the ones that he put a link up for for less than 100 bucks is a steal and a heck of a find for those lights. he knows what hes talking about there. they sound cheap, but a fixture is a fixture, trust me i do construction. just make sure that if you pick a fixture, it says "t5 HO", if you chose florescent. do not get t8 or t12 or a commercial fixture unless you have plants that can maximize that amount of light and out compete algae for nutrition.

i bought my lights from a marine store off of craigslist and i had them swap the acitinic bulbs for 10000k regular bulbs. the tank that was in that other link i put up also uses the same type of fixture with tons of CO2.

2. im not sure about the anubias question, however i have some that they said was from south america when i bought it and it is flowering under the lights. its totally unexpected too. i heard it rarely does in aquaria but it started yesterday. keep in mind that i also have 30 ppm of CO2 and results may very with the absence of CO2 under only 2+ wpg of light.

3. Guitar question no not a les paul but holy crap i wish now that he is gone. all my guitars are actually customs and even my dad made one. but i wish i had a les paul, i want one bad.
