I'm gonna leave the fish in there and let nature takes it's course I guess. Cylce it the old fashioned way with the fish. Poor guy... I hope he makes it!
Which fish is torn up as a result ?

They are pretty hardy. Just lock up the ammonia and nitrites with prime for now. Maybe try some seachem stability it worked for me in that situation.

i've used Bio-Spira back in the day on a 75g and a 90g.....worked great tank never crashed......then i couldn't find it and i heard about Safe Start......was skeptical cuz it wasn't refrigerated........but it worked on my 125......amonia and nitrites are at 0.....nitrate is about 10ppm w/ 50% WC weekly........i've also heard of something else called Turbo Start......it does have to be kept cold and it's found no where but online....

Keep a few extra sponge filters in your tanks, you never have to cycle again

:headbang2 True that.

can some one please explain to me the advantages of using sponge filtration? i want my next tank to be discus and i know the 3 AC110s i have on my 125 are going to cause to much current for small discus.....so how many sponge filters would i need on my 125?? and would i need any power heads or anything to keep the top of the water from developing a scum layer?? i've heard some good things about them when being used for fry tanks but how are they for large discus......they don't have much mech filtration do they? mainly Bio?? sorry to get off topic....but ewurm brought them up figured he could shed some light on that for me
