Was just thinking today I'm lucky to have 2 LFS within about 5 min. from my house (one medium-sized, one quite small), plus another medium-sized shop (specializing in monster fish) about 15 min. away. But I live on a (semi-mountainous) island so it's natural things are somewhat closer to each other.

With the rise of online shopping it may or may not be relevant, but just curious how long others have to travel to get to their nearest LFS? And also has this been affected by the 'demise' of LFS as several YouTubers have made videos about in recent months?

Personally I haven't seen that dynamic here yet (despite online shopping also getting more popular here too), in fact the monster fish shop just opened about 8 months ago.

I have a few, one is about 6 miles away, the other is 4 miles away (thought this one has two locations and they have reptiles, amphibians, and small mammals while their other location has reptiles, amphibians, fish, small mammals, and birds), the other ones are chain pet stores, so idk if you want to count them or not, but one is 3 miles away and one is 8 miles away.

Well sounds like you're set for pets & supplies, and yeah I should have worded that differently -- wasn't thinking about it because we don't have chain pet stores here, but I reckon they count as well -- basically wherever one has access to fish/supporting goods.

My nearest LFS is a 30 minute (10 mile) Pacific Ocean ferry ride, then another 30 minute cab ride. The other two LFSs are another 30 minute cab ride further.

In between a normal 4 hour wait for the return ferry.
If I buy a 6ft tank, the cargo charge of a truck, loader guys, and private boat back (the ferry won't take a tank), ranges between $200 and $300 over the top of tank cost.
Living on an island paradise has its minor drawbacks.
Luckily I get fish from guys who net them out of the river, and deliver a bucket load to the ferry dock, so if its planned right, there's only a few minutes wait between ferries if all goes well.

But I really won't know what the fish are, until get them home and put put them in the tank.
I haven't been disappointed yet, and it's all been an interesting surprise, and rather exciting to see what turns up.

I used to have a good lfs about a mile away but it closed down a few years ago so that leaves me with Petsmart which is about the same distance.

Oh petsmart counts?
I was thinking about that myself lol.I decided I might as well include it as I have reluctantly bought my fair share of fish and supplies from there. These days I mostly buy dog food from Petsmart since the Walmart at the other end of the strip does not carry the brand that I get.

Boony-ville where I live. Hour and a half to anything like a Petsmart. Used to be an independent pet shop about 45 minutes away, it wasn't much and almost never had even the food or supplies I wanted, never mind fish. Closed now. Closest to anything remotely having fish I might buy (or at least order) is 2 hours, after that over 4 hours.

There are four of both Petsmart and Petcos in my city. Counting Portland, Or. just across the river it jumps up to twelve each.
Not sure how many "LFS" are in my area as I am 30 minute drive, depending on traffic, away from The Wet Spot so that is my "LFS" that I use to get all my fish save orders from TUIC, and COTA.
