Not to sound like a hypocrite well maybe i am but there is another member with that devil worship crap as an avatar...doesnt offend me and not complaining but needless to say i dont like the guy even more because of it
There are many that don't like the thin blue line symbol you use as your avatar. While some see it as symbolic of support for police, others see it as a neo-rascist replacement for the stars and bars. In your avatar you have a fractured skull overlaid with this image..... is that support for the police?

This is MFK's original Look and Logo

And this is the New Logo that hasn't been implemented on the site but is Neoprodigy's avatar
New MFK Logo.jpg

I really don't see the issue with the Logo. I think it's pretty obvious MFK is not promoting the religious implications that maybe drawn from image. It's meant to represent our Monstrous Passion and Dedication to the hobby. Any added interpretation is really on the one whose deciding to take it there.

In fact koltsixx koltsixx and I have had this discussion in private about the MFK symbol. I still don't get how MFK professes that religion / spirituality is off limits and fashions its symbol referencing in no uncertain terms quite a certain religious / spiritual being.

That's hypocritical to me. But I don't get hung up on it. I enjoy talking fish with all the guys here.

I also fail to see how it's hypocritical.

Hypocritical Definition by
: characterized by behavior that contradicts what one claims to believe or feel : characterized by hypocrisy said that it was hypocritical to demand respect from students without respecting them in returna hypocritical gesture of modesty and virtue — Robert Graves; also : being a person who acts in contradiction to his or her stated beliefs or feelings : being a hypocrite

Since MFK is not promoting or even stating a belief either way how can MFK be hypocritical? Some are assigning their own interpretation contrary to what MFK intended that's not MFK's fault. If I took a smiley face that had a halo on it emoticon I received in a text from a girl in an attempt for her to convey innocence in a cute playful way as her instead shoving her religion down my throat, whose at fault for that miscommunication? Her for using a symbol that has multiple interpretations or me for deciding it must be the one I have the most issue with. Now imagine I know this girl very well and should know that's not what she's doing but still come at her for it. To me that's what's happening here. I think it should be obvious that MFK is not about worshiping the religious aspect that could be interpreted by the Logo.

MFK simply asks that religious discussions be avoided because it's a passionate subject and generally causes disputes that go so far that even normally great members get Banned because it such a passionate topic. Some of the Staff are religious, myself for one. Some of the Staff love guns. Yet these subjects have been made off limits for the sake of trying to keep the peace in the community. That doesn't mean MFK is promoting anti gun sentiment or atheism or any other religious belief. So where is the hypocrisy?

I think too, the monster part could of been associated with the live feeding of predatory(monster fish) that at one time was common place in the hobby but has lost popularity for various reasons.

Good point yet another possible interpretation. Which helps make mine the Logo and Name can be interpreted in many ways.

I may be wrong but I believe originally the Logo and the name was supposed to reflect the community keeping large fish and tanks. That the members where going Monster, monster sized fish, monster sized tanks, monster sized filtration, etc, etc. However as the community evolved I believe the intent then was meant for the Logo and Name to mean how far we take our hobby. That even a nano tank can be taking things to the next level. That it's about our devotion to gaining knowledge, growing and evolving the hobby and our dedication to the Fish.

ok kolt, you are making way too much sense and being too logical. away from my lounge with that filth!

thebiggerthebetter thebiggerthebetter your name can be just as offensive as the one you referred to. so if a black guy has a tumor, is the bigger the tumor the better? why would you choose that name? If you were choking on a bone, will a bigger bone be better? if someone broke into your home and attacked you with a machete, would a bigger machete be better?? your name,......i don't get it and it bothers me. i thought cheeseZ was cool. it's like he may be cheesy, but he owns it. and i can respect that

i didn't understand how the name bothered you until someone pointed out that it may be because you assumed it was a play at the name Jesus. before that, my best guess was that you felt like he was calling you cheesy or that the hobby was cheesy,.....lol, i was confused. when i saw the guy's name, I immediately read his name as "cheesy" and not "cheesus"

Yeah, that would probably would make more sense.

My apologies I forgot where I was. lol

I read the name that way as well but the minute TBTB took issue with it because I know a little about TBTB I was able to figure it out.

By the way, welcome back; it's nice to see you posting a little more often. I may not have commented much but I used to enjoy what you and Ballin' and some of the rest of the Lounge Crew used to bring to MFK. And I missed it.
