How did YOU apply your vinyl background?

Applying paint to the glass? Like Between glass an vinyl?
Or just freehand paint whatever on the glass?

No I haven't considered either.

What he meant was just painting the outside of the back of the tank. All of my tanks have been spraypainted black. Looks great and no headache from applying vinyl.

Just clean the back well and tape off any areas that you don't want painted. Spray paint is fine, I've also known people who have brushed it on. Are there currently fish in the tank? That could make it a little more difficult, I know that some people have painted the background with fish in the tank but I'm not sure what other precautions need to be taken.

Yeah there are fish in there. Spray paint wouldn't be a good idea because of the over spray. I would have to nearly empty all the water (just to slide the tank away from the wall), remove filter hoses, tape off plastic top and bottom and use acrylic paint I guess.

I got my vinly from autozone...simply cause i work there...it was 12 bucks, came in a 6' x 2' roll, went on like window tint...took me 25 minutes, no air bubbles and it looks great

 good idea.. car vinyl type right?

yeah, we had two types hanging on the rack and I didnt even know it...Just happened to look alot closer and a couple boxes said "no mess" removal...I remember removing tint and having to clean up all the glue...so I opened the box and hell, it was vinyl, so i tried it...worked great...I also put two strips on my glass tops to dim the light...when I bought new bulbs, it came right off...no mess like it said lol

Could I get some specific info on exactly what product type and maker please?
