How did you get your Arowana to eat pellets.

How big is ur aro? Dont worry. Just have other tankmates that eat pellets and during feeding, throw both pellets and the food it eats. Over time, it will eat it

Its about 15 inches. I'll continue feeding pellets and I'll go get hikari massivore.

Every aro I've ever worked with would always readily take floating pellets. Maybe I'm lucky, but I've never had trouble breaking them.

Oh, and I've only ever worked with South American species.

At 15" its difficult at times with this size.

If it eats shrimp, stuff the shrimp with pellets. It will get a taste of pellets

Just keep up with what you are doing. Your aro can survive a couple moonths without food. Eventually hunger will win out and he will eat the pellets

Theres a sticky method on the pbass section which i think is pretty good.

My pellet training was a miracle. It just started eating one day out of nowhere & i completely stop giving it sw.

Just feed pellets and whatever ur aro eats. Eventually ur aro will realize pellet is food and will take em.

Just bought a silver last week around 7 inches. Took him home and he tried the pellets right away, but spit them out almost immediately. The next day I tried it again with the same exact outcome as the day before. The third day I got worried and went out to the LFS and bought him frozen dried krill. He took that in a heartbeat. Started feeding him that and fed my cichlids pellets and out of nowhere he takes them and eats a couple. So now I mix it up with a couple and krill and a some pellets. Seems like a pretty good diet to me as long as no feeder fish are involved.

Same thing happend with my silver aro he would not eat pellets when i first got him but after two weeks of him starving he finally decided to try it but he kept spitting it back out but after a couple days he started eating. If i were you i would just keep trying.

Silver arowanas tend to like the hikari sticks more. Starve it for a long time (2 weeks is not enough) and just keep offering sticks and nothing else. Within a month or so, it will start to eat it. Hikari sticks are the best for silver arowanas. They will not eat massivore delite if they already like the hikari sticks. Massivore delite is also harder than the hikari sticks.
