How did you get your Arowana to eat pellets.

I got my jardini onto hikari floating pellets but they only do small bags and now that's the only pellet he'll eat , so I want to feed him pellet it'll cost a fortune , any ideas ?
 
yer all my lfs only have 57g bags its drivin me mad , ill look on web im in UK
 
Silver aro take pellets very easily for some reason.

I heard aust & asain aro are very stubborn bc in the farms, they r only fed worms when they r first born.

Either way, nothings impossible to train them to take pellets

I use to use the same pellets when I first got my aro. Same as your self it was costing a fortune so I started to mix them with the standard red hikari , reducing the ratio until it was just the 9 pound feed. Also feed shrimp periodically to treat/ keep the food changing
 
Mines a jardini and stubborn as anything , I feed my jag hikari gold but the aro spits them out in disgust I've tried him on diff pellets for years will only eat hikari food sticks drives me mad , tried sticking pellet in prawn he eats them but never on there own , apart from that he eats anything fresh (including cichlids lol)
 
+1 for tank mates. I have 2 achara catfish that eat like pigs, my arowana eventully just started joining in during the feeding frenzy. He'll eat shrimp, smelts, & dry food @ will now. No need to limit to just dry food. No worry, he'll come around.
